Help and FAQ

The Daily

How does the Daily work?

Every day there is one Daily course, and every player gets exactly the same one, block for block. You get three tries. Your best try is your score for the day. After your three tries you can replay the course for fun; replays don't change your score.

When does a new Daily start?

At midnight UTC, every day. That is 5 PM Pacific while daylight time is on and 4 PM when it is off. After your three tries, the home screen shows when the next one opens in your own time.

Why midnight UTC and not my midnight?

So everyone in the world is on the same course at the same time. A score only means something if everyone had the same blocks.

Is the course the same on all three tries?

Yes. The Daily course comes from the date, so it is the same on every try, on every iPhone, all day.

What happens with ties?

A tie is a tie. There is no leaderboard in the app to break it. On a Daily's page at onemorewall.com, "37 beats 91% of players" counts only players who scored less than 37, so tied players don't count against each other.

Where do the numbers on a Daily's page come from?

When a phone finishes its three tries on a Daily, the app sends the best score anonymously, once. The page adds them up: how many finished, the typical score and what it takes to reach the top 10% and top 1%. No names, no accounts. The Privacy Policy has the details.

Is there Game Center or a leaderboard?

Not in this version. Your scores stay on your phone, and each Daily's anonymous totals are on its page at onemorewall.com.

Playing

How do I play?

Tap anywhere and the ball flips to the other wall. Pass a block to score a point. Touch one and the run ends; tap to go again. You can tap in mid-air to change direction.

What is Endless?

Unlimited practice. Every run is a new course, and your best Endless score is kept on your phone. It doesn't affect the Daily.

Does it work offline?

Yes, the whole game plays offline. If you finish a Daily offline, the anonymous score waits and is sent when the app is back online, within two days.

Which iPhones does it run on?

iPhones with iOS 17 or later. It plays in portrait.

I got a new phone or deleted the app. Where are my scores?

Scores are kept only on your phone, in the app's data, which your iPhone backup includes. Restoring a backup brings them back. Deleting the app deletes them.

Sound, haptics and motion

How do I turn the sound off?

Use the silent switch or the Action button set to Silent Mode: the game goes quiet. With sound on, the game plays over your music instead of stopping it, and the volume buttons set how loud it is. There is no separate sound setting in the app.

How do I turn the vibrations off?

The game follows your iPhone's setting. Go to Settings, then Sounds and Haptics, and turn off System Haptics.

Can I make it calmer to watch?

Yes. Turn on Reduce Motion (Settings, Accessibility, Motion). The game drops the screen shake, the camera kick and most of the burst when a run ends.
